Very pretty silver plated wine bottle or soda syphon holder, with twin handles, gadrooned border and pierced decoration on the sides, on a stepped base. There are some marks and spotting to the internal base as to be expected and some patches of wear/plate loss to the exterior, however these blemishes do not detract from this handsome holder. The base is marked as Cardinal Plate which is a trade mark of Elkington & Co of Birmingham. This useful piece will look stunning on the table and saves stains to tablecloths and tables...

A luxurious set of 6 'silveroid' coffee spoons, with scallop/shell shaped cups and early plastic coffee bean tails, in a velvet lined pretty grey box with front clasp. The spoons have a lovely warm patina  to them and are nice and robust. Silveroid is a special alloy consisting of 45% nickel, 54% copper and 1% manganese, this metal was fairly hard wearing and could withstand the rigors of everyday use  and was the best material for watch cases and flatware until the advent of stainless steel, it can also be known as German silver. Interesting 'Tiger pattern' cigarette/card case with a linear abstract design. The case opens on a piano hinge to reveal a clean inside with a matt gold finish. There is a gilt metal retaining bar across the middle of the compartment. The back has engine turned check pattern. This company also produced vanity cases in the 40's and 50's. It would make a great case for business cards or notes.

A smart set of 12 silver plate grapefruit/teaspoons in a neo classical style, with pointed cups that are decorated in a relief and etched leaf pattern, thin stripes on the neck and an ornately decorated tail, in a material lined pretty green faux snakskin box with two front clasps. The cups are stamped with 12g and the makers mark. It is likely that these are French  as you can identify French silver plate by a number alongside a maker's mark. The number refers to the grams of silver used in the electroplating process. So, a spoon may bear the mark "12 G" or "12 Gr," indicating that 12 g of silver created the item. This set is as pretty as it is useful, a wonderful gift...
