Charming electric Metamec bakerlite alarm clock with pistachio coloured surround in working order, (except for the tick/silent facility). It has to be plugged in and you have to turn the 'start' button a few times to get it started. The alarm works and emits a buzzing sound when set off. On the reverse there are knobs for setting the alarm, starting the clock, setting the time and silencing the tick.

Metamec, was a small factory based in Dereham, Norfolk, England, that started making synchronous electric clocks in 1947. They stopped making clocks when the company went into receivership in 1984.

It is wired but we have removed the plug. As with all pre-used electrical items they should be checked and installed by a qualified electrician. We cannot be liable for the purchaser not following our advice on this...

One bottle was used for SOL.MAG.SULPH. Magnesium Sulphate, is an inorganic salt containing magnesium, sulfur and oxygen more commonly called Epsom Salt. The other was used for SOL.SOD.BROM. Sodium Bromide, is an inorganic compound that was used as a hypnotic, anticonvulsant and sedative in medicine!

Interesting 'Tiger pattern' cigarette/card case with a linear abstract design. The case opens on a piano hinge to reveal a clean inside with a matt gold finish. There is a gilt metal retaining bar across the middle of the compartment. The back has engine turned check pattern. This company also produced vanity cases in the 40's and 50's. It would make a great case for business cards or notes.
