Charming electric Metamec bakerlite alarm clock with pistachio coloured surround in working order, (except for the tick/silent facility). It has to be plugged in and you have to turn the 'start' button a few times to get it started. The alarm works and emits a buzzing sound when set off. On the reverse there are knobs for setting the alarm, starting the clock, setting the time and silencing the tick.

Metamec, was a small factory based in Dereham, Norfolk, England, that started making synchronous electric clocks in 1947. They stopped making clocks when the company went into receivership in 1984.

It is wired but we have removed the plug. As with all pre-used electrical items they should be checked and installed by a qualified electrician. We cannot be liable for the purchaser not following our advice on this...

One bottle was used for SOL.MAG.SULPH. Magnesium Sulphate, is an inorganic salt containing magnesium, sulfur and oxygen more commonly called Epsom Salt. The other was used for SOL.SOD.BROM. Sodium Bromide, is an inorganic compound that was used as a hypnotic, anticonvulsant and sedative in medicine!

A large slab of carved shaped mellow grey limestone containing an abundance of orthoceras and ammonite fossils. The surface has a smooth texture which appears to have great depth which would look lovely left as it is or polished up.  It would have originally been atop a French Empire bombe chest of drawers. Unusual Hohner Harmonica mechanical revolving display stand, in an imposing pyramid/needle shape, with hooks for display, on a square base, with a winding handle or crank. Fantastic for a shop display but also great at home for displaying a collection. I have been using it to hang jewellery from, which is excellent as it revolves around with just a turn of the handle...

The Hohner rotating display was first introduced in 1911, it holds a large spring and crank to wind it. The clock motor turned the pyramid slowly to show the harmonicas on display. It is rare to find one especially one that still works...

Molded, frosted finish malachite glass turtle/tortoise powder box designed in 1930's by Curt Schlevogt of Gablonz. The turtle shell is the removable lid of the box. This is such an interesting unusual piece that I had to have it despite the 3 small chips on the lid. These chips do not notice enough to detract from the beauty of this object.

Art Nouveau tiles have been set into a painted wood panel, to make a stunning and useful interiors piece. This bowl design was made with many different figural impressions, this one features a bull with a forward looking steer head. The bull figure is raised from the surface with a 3-D effect. Hand-mixed, hand-formed glass  it has a few scattered air bubbles within the glass and a  textured base showing the cooling lines. It has many uses, a candleholder, paperweight, ashtray, etc and also beautiful as decor, especially when placed near light.

FAULTS:  The box has had woodworm at some time and there is some watermarks and marks on the picture on the front of the box.  Some of the paper pictures are worn and ripped at the edges. The blocks are all very worn at the edges and 1 block has its picture missing on one of the sides.
