Torox Cubes was made in England by Hugon & Co. Ltd. Manchester and was the less well known brand to its rival Oxo. The company manufactured the famous ''Atora' Beef Suet.
Hugson & Co began in 1893 when Gabriel Hugon, noticed his wife struggling to cut up blocks of suet in the kitchen. He saw an opportunity, and the first ever factory to produce shredded suet was born.
The name 'Atora' comes from the Spanish word 'toro' meaning bull. Add an 'X'on the end and you get 'Torox'!
This Vintage red and white tin would have held 6 Torox beef cubes which as it says on the tin was the "World's Best Beverage."!
