Exquisitely embroidered Vintage Chinese Silk Handbag with golden clasp in the most amazing original condition.
The main body of the black bag is hand embroidered with a central silk Chinese figure surrounded by stylised embroidered silk dragons and flowers. The black background has a lightly patterned swirly design, rather like clouds. The reverse sees to further Silk dragons and it has hand holder, so that it's easy to keep on the wrist. The top golden clasp and edging has a group of five figures, 3 Geisha girls stand with two Monks, one standing, one sitting. The border again sees Monks and Geisha girls playing instruments, serving food and dancing.
The inside is finished in a pale pink and has two slip pockets. It comes with its original silk purse and silk and kid leather lined mirror.
A stunning, beautiful item that is full of fantastic craftsmanship. Ideal for a collection or that very special occasion.
