This style of chair is sometimes known as the Astley Cooper Chair. An invention of Sir Astley Paston Cooper (1768-1841), surgeon and anatomist. 

COMPOSITION:  Beech

DIMENSIONS:  (H) 98cm  (W) 33cm   (D) 28cm  (seat height) 54cm

CONDITION:  Excellent original condition with age related wear.

PERIOD: Circa 1790
