A beautiful Arts & Crafts Cast Iron Fireplace Insert, circa 1873, by the renowned Aesthetic Architect Thomas Jeckyll.
The design sees finely cast rosettes of butterflies, bees and stylised floral designs on top of a reeded background.
Design for Barnard, Bishop & Barnards foundry of Norwich.
Thomas Jeckyll (1827-1881) was one of the leading architects of the Aesthetic Movement from which this Anglo-Japenese inspired design was created.
