An impressive mid 20th Century World Timer mantel or table clock by Kienzle, Germany with the very rare teak wood surround.
The face depicts the countries of the world showing the different time zones.
The original version of this world clock was designed by Heinrich Moeller in 1939 to mark the occasion of Adolf Hitler's 50th birthday, it was then produced decades later in this form with great success. The model offered here was produced in the 1960s.
Unfortunately the original movement had given up the ghost so a new quartz movement has been fitted and keeps excellent time. Because of the new movement the time zone part of the dial does now not function and is just for decorative purposes.
Some blemishes to the dial as per photos. Patination to the brass as to be expected.
Very heavy and substantial, weighing in at 3.3 kgs!
COLOUR: White, Gold & Brown
COMPOSITION: Metal & Teak
DIMENSIONS:(H) 28cm (W) 29cm (D)3.5cm
CONDITION:The case and face are in very good condition. The original movement has been replaced with a new high quality quartz movement. Because of the new movement the time zone part of the dial does now not function and is just purely decorative. The new quartz movement is covered by a 1 year guarantee, should it be faulty or stop working - but this doesn't cover any accidental or deliberate damage.
