An Antique John Hill Earthenware Tobacco Jar with its original tin lid. Stamped 'JOHN HILL, CANNON FIXTURE DEALER, 3 to 7 NEW CUT' with remnants of its original tobacco label. The jar itself is in great condition apart from an edge chip to the base.
John Hill were a manufacturer of and dealer in every description of shop and office fixtures and were based in New Cut, Waterloo, London.
COMPOSITION: Earthenware and Tin
JAR DIMENSIONS: (H) 19cm (W) (at the most bulbous part) 17cm
CONDITION: Very Good. There is a chip to the base, please see the pictures.
FLAWS: The label is distressed but this is expected of a jar this old and just adds to its beauty.
