Substantial 19th century blue and white tureen in the Dresden pattern from BW & Co. of England. An oval bulbous shape with unusual angular handles with raised balls, very tactile, it is decorated with gorgeous stylised blue flowers and leaves.
There is a hole in the lid in which can be placed a serving spoon or ladle, making a perfect centrepiece for vegetables, stews or soups. This would really add style and character to a white table setting..
