A great aged Philips 'Challenge' 10 inch terrestrial table globe. The globe itself has faded to parchment-like hues (the oceans would originally have been a sky-blue), there are patches of damage and the glaze has crackled, all adding to the vintage feel. The globe is constructed from two pasteboard hemispheres with hand-applied composite paper gores, joined at the equator. It features the trademark Everite stepped black bakelite base with a die cast meridian, and a patinated aluminium time dial at the North Pole.
COLOUR: Parchment & Black
